Hiking Cheesequake State Park’s Green Trail in about 6 to 8″ of snow.
Our area had gotten around 8.5″ of snow so we scampered out for a quick hike at Cheesequake before the expected rain was going to wash it away.
We chucked both the snowshoes and the MICROspikes in the car because we weren’t sure what we’d need.
Miles: ~3 (felt like 5 after some deep snow though…)

At the trail head the surface looked pretty packed down so we opted for the spikes but it varied between probably being OK without anything, and maybe snowshoes being better.
Especially after the cedar swamp area, the trail was less traveled so we were trudging through more snow.
But no matter what was on our feet, it was another beautiful sunny winter day out on the trail.
